The control action by the State Police carried out in the territory of the City of Fondi continues incessantly, as part of the strengthening of the measures to combat widespread crime, ordered by the Latina Police Headquarters.

The agents of the “Nibbio” motorbike of the Fondi police station, during the completion of a checkpoint, immediately noticed that the young man appeared uncertain in driving the vehicle.

Thanks to the cross-referencing of the information contained in the police force databases, they ascertained that this international permit had been issued fraudulently, as the foreign citizen, although regularly residing in Italy, had never obtained a driving license in his country from.

The man then attempted to avoid the fine provided for by the highway code by even showing the police a photograph that he had on his smartphone of an Italian driving license issued in his name by the Sassari motor vehicle authority.

From a quick check, the Agents ascertained that this document was not present in the civil motorization database and that in any case it is not allowed to circulate with only photos of the documents.

The motorcyclist police had nothing left to do but impose a fine of 5,000 euros on the young foreigner, as well as stopping his car for three months.

Now it will be up to the Investigative Team staff to launch targeted investigations aimed at identifying the criminal circuit that provides false driving documents to foreign citizens of the territory
