There Bakery Basket Piacenza comes out defeated by PalaTriccoli in Jesi, the hosts win 70-52 in game 1 of the Serie B playoffs. The approach to the match seems better for the hosts, who quickly take a 7-2 lead. The red and whites react with a partial score of -1, and all the visitors’ points are scored by Rasio. After the initial verve, the match loses intensity, but two consecutive baskets by captain Mastroianni give Bakery the first lead: 9-10 7′. The first action well played by coach Salvemini’s boys leads to a triple from Criconia’s corner. The match is still balanced and at the first break the score is 13 all. Jesi starts the second half well once again. Piacenza, however, keeps the lead with Soviero, who tries some of his incursions. There are many errors on both sides, and so in the 15th minute there is a need for a timeout. Upon returning, the red and whites build an excellent action for El Agbani’s triple which scores the 19th draw. The opponents are unable to do so and place a 7-0 break, interrupted by Criconia’s recovery with a basket.
The plot of the match did not change after the break, with Jesi appearing to have found continuity in the game. The Bakery, however, struggled, and so after 4′ of play, at 35-24, the visiting bench opted to suspend the match. Criconia wins three free throws, but the meter runs for the opponents, so much so that they reach a lead of over twenty points at 49-28. Piacenza practically manages to score points only with the clock stopped, and this galvanizes PalaTriccoli. It is Soviero’s basket that inaugurates the last period of the game. However, the red and whites are unable to defend intensely, they allow too many spaces to Jesi who does not forgive, even reaching +25. It’s still Soviero in penetration and Bertocco from the arc moving the scoreboard for the travelers. With an unsportsmanlike strike on each side, the score reached 65-45 with just over 2′ to go.
