CARPI IN CELEBRATION: BEATS CERTALDO AND RETURN TO LEGA PRO

Three years later Carpi resumed the Lega Pro, crowning a fairytale season with a 5-1 win at Certaldo on the last day. The red and whites defended the +2 on Ravenna, who defeated Imolese 2-0, celebrating in front of over 3500 fans who filled the “Cabassi” and then at the end of the match accompanied the team in the celebration until late at night Martyrs Square. A game unlocked after 8′ by Rossi’s header from a cross by Cortesi and then two great saves by Viti kept it 1-0 until the 45th minute, when on the counterattack Mandelli served the ball to Sall to make it 2-0 . At the beginning of the second half a thrill was given by the Tuscan Gozzerini who headed the score to make it 1-2, but the fear didn’t last long because Cortesi flew to the left and was dramatically knocked down in the area by Borboryo, the referee didn’t blow the whistle but Larhrib arrived who serves Rossi the chocolate for the comfortable 3-1. The match ends here and in the final, with the party already ready, Saporetti’s penalty arrives (goal number 22, best scorer of the 9 groups of D) and Arrondini’s seal to finish the party.

Now Carpi will play on 12, 15 and 19 May the triangular Poule championship in which the 9 winners of the 9 groups will participate: the red and whites are in group 2 with Pianese and Campobasso, in group 1 there are Alcione, Caldiero and Chioggia, in 3 Cavese , Altamura and Trapani. The 3 winners and the best second go to the semi-final and then to the final to sew the D championship on their chest.
