WhatsApp beta Android, the latest version encourages new conversations
Descriptive text here

There version 2.24.7.23 of WhatsApp beta for Android, available on the Google Play Store for program members, highlights how the development team is working to improve user engagement on the platform. The easier the conversations are, the more time you have available to communicate with others through WhatsApp. And how to facilitate conversations? The platform will try to suggest to the user contacts with whom he or she might want to chat.

As you can see from the screenshot below from colleagues at wabetainfo.com, who have caught and described the function in development, WhatsApp is considering adding a section “Start chatting”, in Italian “Start chatting”, which will list contacts in your address book and registered on WhatsApp with whom you can start a conversation. However, it seems that this new section is meant to stay at the bottom of the chats listso those who have many may never see it.

It also seems that WhatsApp in this section offers contacts with which there has never been any interaction so as to encourage new connections. Meta’s instant messaging platform is a constant source of news, especially in beta versions. In recent days, the beta trend for Android has shown the integration of Meta AI, the possibility of asking artificial intelligence questions directly within the search bar, thus accelerating the formulation of questions.

In fact, previously, to access Meta’s AI it was necessary to manually select the assistant from the contact list, then WhatsApp developed the shortcut button function and has recently further optimized the interaction by allowing the user to formulate questions to Meta AI directly from the search bar. Furthermore, more recently, the platform has started to inform users about new terms of service which will come into force starting from April 11, 2024 to comply with the Digital Markets Act (DMA).
