What will the Pixel 9 be like? The renderings reveal an island for the cameras

Since January the first rumors and renderings had revealed the appearance of the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL. Now the first images of Pixel 9 have been published, again by the well-known leaker OneLeaks for an exclusive of 91mobiles.

The Pixel 9 obviously has similarities to the Pro, and is characterized by much flatter edges than those of the current Pixel 8 series, and which make it very similar to an iPhone. The standby/power button and volume rocker are still on the right side.

The screen remains flat, and it’s a 6.03″ compared to the 6.1” associated with the Pixel 9 Pro. The dimensions of the Pixel 9 are 152.8 x 71.9 x 8.5 mm, with the thickness rising to 12 mm if you also count the plateau of the two rear cameras.

This horizontal and thick section, typical of recent Google phones, in the Pixel 9 series will not continue to the edge but it will have the appearance of an island with shorter sides in a semicircle.

The new Tensor G4 processor is obviously expected in the Pixel 9 series, and there could also be the new Qi2 standard for wireless charging with a power of 15 W.

In recent months, a misunderstanding between 91mobiles and OnLeaks had led people to believe that the first renders released referred to the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro, but instead they were the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL.

With these new renderings of the Pixel 9, therefore, the family seems to be complete, at least at the level of rumors. The XL model would rejoin the group after its last appearance with the Pixel 4 series, which however also had the Pixel 4a.

With Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL, Google could decide to do without its cheapest “a” model in 2024, as already rumored by Android Authority at the beginning of the year.
