What shines is the men’s selection coached by Roberto Birelli and Diego Segalini and formed by Edoardo Marella and Andrea
Rizzo, both from Desio Volley Brianza, Lorenzo Campagnoli and Leonardo Gobbi from Ag Milano, Gabriele Natale from Diavoli Rosa and among the Lecco players Emanuele Capasso of As Merate Volleyball. The double scored by the athlete originally from Verderio was incredible and in the space of a few weeks he managed to become champion at the Territories Trophy both indoors and on the sand: Capasso lifts the cup together with Campagnoli and Gobbi. Second in the final was the man from Cisa Andrea Diliddo in team with Gioele Bosco and Marco Loiacono.

The women’s selection was also good – made up of Selene Barboni (Pall. Gonzaga Giovani), Martina Troiani (Pro Patria Volley Milano), Elena Gasparetti (Busnago Volley Team), Francesca Rotondo (Diavoli Rosa), Giulia Oggioni (Pro Victoria Pallavolo) and Giorgia Bonacina (Usd Viscontini Volley) – who concluded the event with a third and fifth place (bronze for Rotondo, Troiani and Bonacina). In the women’s staff with coach Marco Matarrese the Barzanese Serena Meroni, in the past winner of the trophy also as a player.

“This journey has once again proven to be an exciting and rewarding experience, which makes me relive the same emotions I felt as a player. It is a challenge that always enriches me and allows me to grow a lot from a personal point of view.

The girls showed great determination and commitment throughout the month of training, consolidating a united group that made this adventure even more beautiful. We cannot deny a bit of bitterness for the lost games, but overall we are satisfied with the path and the results. The tournament formula left no room for error, and unfortunately we made some missteps with both teams, in addition to having to deal with some questionable referee decisions at crucial moments.

I would like to thank the federation, and in particular Marco, for giving me the opportunity to contribute once again to this beautiful project. A special thank you goes to the boys, to Diego and Roberto, but above all to Mata for confirming his unconditional trust in me.”
