Sensational in the Women’s Basketball League. After Virtus Bologna’s step back, which withdrew its first team from the next championship, the LBF Assembly is considering legal action against the Juventus club.

President Protani underlined the need for an assembly meeting following the events of the last few days, which have had a strong impact on women’s basketball, underlining as always the precious closeness and continuous support of the Italian Basketball Federation, even more so in this situation .
From all those present emerged the desire to form a common front and meet again in person in the coming weeks to work on various aspects, between present and future, aimed at protecting the interests of the entire movement and guaranteeing its sustainability.
The assembly unanimously expresses its bitterness at the sudden renunciation of participation in Serie A1 by Virtus Bologna, which had as a consequence a negative impact on Italian women’s basketball and in general on the entire national basketball movement. In this regard, the Lega Basket Femminile is evaluating together with its lawyers the possibility of taking action against the Virtus Bologna company for the considerable damage suffered in terms of image.
Finally, the desire to adopt common strategies is shared by the entire Assembly, maintaining as the primary objective the protection of the entire basketball, human and professional heritage that has always distinguished our world.
