The official startlist of the Tour de France 2024. In the starting list it is very sporadic to notice the Italian Tricolour, as has often happened in previous editions. They will just be eight blues at the start of the Grande Boucle which will start on Saturday from the Bel Paese, with three stages on our soil.
The key points in the general classification are missing and therefore we will have to aim for partial successes with Giulio Cicconereturning from the Polka Dot Jersey, e Alberto Bettiol, Italian champion on Sunday. There will also be room for Davide Formolo and Matteo Sobrero for the climbs, while Luca Mozzato will try to launch himself into the sprints and slightly choppy stages. Luxury wingmen Michele Gazzoli, Davide Ballerini and Gianni Moscon.
Italy boasts one more runner than in 2023, but the average is significantly decreasing. In 2022 there were 14 Azzurri, while 8 in 2021. Our country is only the sixth most represented behind France, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands and Great Britain.
