ErmGroup San Giustino: the young Daniele Carpita arrives in place 4

The spiker hired by ErmGroup San Giustino comes from Lombardy and is a 19-year-old with already a lot of experience behind him, especially since he also won at youth level with the national team. It’s about Daniele Carpita, born in 2005 and 190 centimeters tall, coming from the Diavoli Rosa di Brugherio club, with which he played as a starter the last two seasons in the Serie A3 Credem Banca championship and was an opponent of the biancazzurri two years ago in the White group. Raised in Volley Segrate, Carpita then moved to the Pink Devils in 2018, with whom he enriched his personal palmares: an Under 14 national title, two at Under 17 level and a Junior League; just over a month ago, he was a finalist in San Giustino in the Under 19 category, with the trophy going to Vero Volley Assiplan Monza. Even in the blue jersey, Carpita was European Under 18 champion and is still called up for the Junior collegiate meetings. As regards the first team chapter, he played on the Serie B pitches in the 2021/’22 season with Powervolley Milano and in the two-year period of A3 with Brugherio he scored 267 points, including 28 aces and 26 winning blocks. For him, now, the arrival at ErmGroup constitutes a new page for several reasons: “It’s the first time I’ve left the borders of my region – explained Carpita – and therefore in San Giustino I will have to learn to manage my daily life outside of the house. It’s worth saying that I’m having a change of scenery in every sense, but above all I’ll be playing in an ambitious team.”. Even if the week of the Under 19 national finals served to get to know the environment a little. “In those days I spoke to several people, I realized the beauty of the facilities and they spoke very well to me about the company”. On the pitch, Carpita will meet up with his friend Jacopo Biffi, a setter who has already been his teammate at the Pink Devils. “With him as director I played an A3 championship, so as regards the agreement with Jacopo we know each other well”, he underlined. An operation with a particular flavor, that of Carpita, for the sporting director Valdemaro Gustinelli: “Here’s the real challenge this year! – he immediately exclaimed – The contacts with Daniele began in unsuspecting times and above all I clearly remember the first time I saw him play (two seasons ago in San Giustino in the return match of our first season in A3) and it was a nice sight . So small in age compared to everyone else but so skilled in the technical gesture: there are few players like him in circulation today (personal opinion, obviously) because he is complete in his fundamentals, with a strong propensity for second line ones, therefore reception, serve and defense; His technical gesture in attack is also excellent, where evidently as a speculative player he knows well when to take risks and when to make the opponent play again. I followed him a lot in this last part of the season and I must admit that his continuity and eclecticism are sometimes embarrassing, compared to his young age. Then, fortunately sometimes he shows all the years he has and he also happens to play matches well below his standard level (see the national Under 19 final, which took place in San Giustino, in front of his future audience and with the entire staff management, technician deployed and many of his new teammates in the stands… not simple, objectively) and this on the one hand makes me even more serene. Daniele Carpita constitutes a further step towards “our” way of understanding volleyball, that is, trying to valorise those athletes with strong technical characteristics, with an extremely young profile, on whom we can aim for a rosy and lasting future. And Pallavolo San Giustino is betting a lot on Carpita: I know very well that many will think that there are profiles in circulation with strong physical qualities perhaps even superior to him, but the boy knows how to play volleyball well, he knows all its facets; despite being so young, he is a born balancer, a fundamental factor in the construction of the future sextet. The proof is that none of his coaches have ever given up on him. Both in his club and in the national team (Daniele was in retreat with the Under 20s), he has always been present in all the rosters and I believe, without false declarations, that he is one of the most successful athletes at national level among the youth categories . I personally pushed hard for his arrival and I openly reiterate that it will be a nice sight for everyone. Young age and a normal physique do not matter – concluded Gustinelli – as volleyball is a sport for intelligent people: Daniele is very intelligent too. Welcome!”.
