TRISSINO (VI) – Edoardo Zamperini is the new Italian Under 23 champion. With an action on the final climb of Selva, about 20 km from the finish line, the Veronese rider from Trevigiani Energiapura Marchiol breaks away from his breakaway companions. In second place comes Nicola Rossi (Beltrami TSA Tre Colli) and Pietro Mattio (Team Visma Lease a Bike Development).
Italian Championship which sees a large breakaway take off after the first bumps. In the final kilometers the group of escapees also fell apart, in particular under the impetus of five athletes: Simone Gualdi, Cesare Chesini, Edoardo Zamperini, Pietro Mattio and Matteo Ambrosini. Nicola Rossi also joined them shortly afterwards.
The decisive action was less than 20 km from the finish line. Edoardo Zamperini progressing, slowly gains the margin on the climb and manages to break away from his breakaway companions. The UC Trevigiani runner thus manages to reach the finish line in Trissino all alone.
