The events of the last 24 hours have significantly inflamed the market situation around Toprak Razgatlioglu. The words declared to Speedweek by Kenan Sofuoglu have in fact lit the fuse regarding what will be the future of his client.

Yes, because Toprak Razgatliogluthrough your manager, he has made it known that he wants to go to MotoGP next year and for BMW this is no small news. For its part, the House of Monaco wanted to release a simple communication on the matter, trying to go beyond the matter. Let’s specify things clearly: BMW has not issued any press release. Upon our specific request regarding the company’s position, it issued this communication to us, that is, that it does not want to participate in these speculations, adding that Toprak also has an existing contract for next year.

It therefore becomes logical to think that BMW will do everything to keep its diamond at home in 2025 toomaking him respect the contract and considering, among other things, Toprak’s image role outside the world of racing.

On the other side, however, there is Kenan Sofuoglu, who in recent years has always managed to best look after Toprak’s interests, always achieving his objectives. From Kawasaki he took him to Yamaha and then from Yamaha to BMW where the Turk is currently fighting for the world title.

There could now be a new challenge on the horizon, represented by MotoGP. As anticipated yesterday, Honda has made an offer and there could also be an offer from Yamaha on the table, which next season will see the exit of Lin Jarvis to make room for Paolo Pavesio, who knows Toprak well given the Turk’s past in Yamaha Superbike with Crescent.

At this point the question arises spontaneously: what will Toprak’s choice be for 2025?

At the moment we don’t know and perhaps Toprak doesn’t know either. However, what we can think is that Toprak has always been interested in a factory team and not in satellite teams. On the other hand, it is his story that teaches him, as he himself told us a couple of years ago in this interview, shortly before the start of the World Championship in Aragon: “I prefer my R1 to a satellite Yamaha MotoGP”.

We think he hasn’t changed his mind on this issue: if Toprak wants to make the leap to MotoGP, he will certainly want to do so by entering through the main door without having to go through satellite teams. The situation is hot and we will see what the evolution will be.
