A “travelling” men’s Open 5-a-side football championship and an “Over 40” on the Piovani pitches in Fossano. But also two new championships in volleyball: the tournaments reserved for the male student category (arbitration) for boys born from 2009 and later and the junior men’s category (arbitration) for boys born from 2007 and later are born. These are the four main innovations proposed by the CSI of Cuneo in view of the 2024/25 sports season which will focus on 8 sports disciplines and 38 different categories. The football 5, football 7 and football 11 championships for children and adults are very confirmed, as are the volleyball, basketball and minivolley championships for the little ones. In autumn the padel championships will start on the fields of the Dopolavoro Ferroviario of Cuneo and with the start of 2025 also the stages of the provincial table tennis championship. New sports clubs who want to register with the CSI must show up at the headquarters in via E. Filiberto 6 in Cuneo (Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm to 7.30pm, Saturday from 10am to 12pm) to collect the folder with the various models and the related instructions compilation. Clubs already affiliated in the 2023/24 sports year will instead be sent the documentation necessary to register for the 2024/25 championships via email, without the obligation to go to the office to collect the material. Membership will be carried out exclusively online directly by the sports clubs, using the appropriate digital platform available on the web with access to a reserved area. The CSI headquarters will reopen on Tuesday 27 August, the day registrations for the new sports year begin. In the 11-a-side football the Boys (2011 and later), Students (2009 and later) and Open (2009 and earlier) categories are confirmed. For the 7-a-side football confirmed the traditional Open men’s Eccellenza championship in the Borgo San Dalmazzo sports area (2009 and previous years) and the self-refereeed championship reserved for the Under 8 (2017 and subsequent), Under 10 (2015 and subsequent) and Under 12 (2013 and subsequent) categories ).
The aficionados of 5-a-side football they will be able to register for different championships. Three are dedicated to the Open category: the traditional tournament which takes place at the “Torretta” sports center in Madonna dell’Olmo (2009 and previous years) is joined by the “traveling” championship (2009 and previous years), started on an experimental basis in beginning of 2024 and the brand new tournament reserved for “Over 40s” (1984 and earlier) on the pitches of Piovani-Fossano, with the possibility of including two athletes over 30. In winter the indoor championships will then return (with matches scheduled from the month of January 2025) for the Under 8-10-12 categories (self-refereeed tournament) and for the Boys, Students and Juniores categories (refereeed tournament).
Confirmations and news also for volleyball which proposes the self-refereeed tournament for Under 12s in the women’s and mixed formulas (2013 and subsequent) and mixed boys (2011 and subsequent). Championship refereed instead for the Girls category (2011 and following years), Students (2009 and following years), Mixed Students (2009 and following years), Female and mixed Juniors (2007 and following years) and Female Top Junior (2003 and following years). The championships of the men’s, women’s and mixed Open categories (2009 and previous) have been confirmed. New entries are the Men’s Allievi referee tournaments (2009 and subsequent years) and the Junior men’s referee tournaments (2007 and subsequent years) with the possibility of including athletes born in 2006 in the team roster. For the youngest, there will be self-refereeed championships of minivolleyball for the Under 8 category (2017 and subsequent years) with a concentration formula and Under 10 (2015 and subsequent years)
In the basketball instead, championships are scheduled for the Under 12 category (2013 and following), Boys (2011 and following), Students (2009 and following), Junior male (2007 and following) and Top junior male (2003 and following). The men’s Open championship (2009 and previous) is highly anticipated, as always. Following the great success of the season just concluded, the highly confirmed offer of the championship will soon arrive padel, in collaboration with the Post Work Railway of Cuneo. The matches will continue to be played at the DLF facilities (via Lungostura XXIV Maggio, 2). Finally, from the end of 2024 it will be possible to participate in the provincial championship table tennis youth, with formulas and registration opening dates that will be announced in the autumn.
