Trunkenpolz: “KTM will not abandon Brad Binder” – Rossomotori.it

Hubert Trunkenpolz clarifies that KTM is not excluding Brad Binder and will continue to support him in this difficult time.

It wasn’t an easy start to the season for Brad Binder who, due to bad luck combined with a few too many mistakes, is failing to repeat what it did last year riding his KTM. The incredible speed demonstrated by Pedro Acosta so far, which also earns him the record of best KTM rider in the rankings, he seems to have mandate in crisis the South African. The managers of the Austrian company, however, do not agree with this version and it is Hubert Trunkenpolz to explain the reasons.

Trunkenpolz: “Binder is unlucky this year, otherwise he would still be fourth”

After a 2023 season that allowed Binder to express himself all his talent, the South African is struggling to repeat himself at the start of the championship. If during last year it was precisely the #41 that “saved” KTM and even took it to the finish line second in the Constructors’ World Championship, today the reality is very different. Pedro Acosta’s arrival and speed have shifted the balancewith the Spanish sounding more and more like the truth driver of the Austrian house.

In a long interview with GPOne.com And Hubert TrunkenpolzVice President of the Board of Directors of Pierer Mobility AC, to talk about the Brad Binder situation and explain how in KTM they will continue to support him:

“Brad really was bad lucky this year; many little things happened to him crooked. But we don’t abandon a pilot in a situation like this. We know that Binder is extremely fast and can win in MotoGP. […] At the moment, some things aren’t going well from a technical point of view, so we have to help him a little with the bike. […] We will work with Brad in one direction, so that he feels new at ease. He’s fast when he’s a little sideways and the bike moves at the limit, for this reason we will rebuild his KTM before the Dutch TT in Assen. […] Pedro Acosta is undoubtedly a great talent, but we are not ruling it out Brad Binder.”

“We haven’t seen Brad’s potential often this year. His current seventh place in the World Championship does not show his real abilities. He’s had bad luck this year in three incidents, otherwise he would still be fourth in the standings. Us anyway we want to be at the top of the Championship and don’t settle for fourth place. Winning is our goal and we are working to achieve it.”
