Women’s Olympic volleyball tournament: the groups · Paris 2024
In addition to Franceautomatically qualified as host country of the Olympic Games, Brazil, United States, Poland, Dominican Republic, Serbia And Türkiye they earned the nation’s quota at the 2023 Pre-Olympic Tournament.
With the points obtained in the VNL 2024, Italy, People’s Republic of China, Japan And Netherlands they fly to Paris 2024 thanks to their position in the FIVB ranking.
The Kenya arrives at the French Games as an African representative.
The home team is guaranteed first place in group A. The team at the top of the world rankings, the Brazilis in the upper part of group B while the second, theItalyis seeded grouping C.

The women’s volleyball tournament will last throughout the Paris 2024 period: it will begin Sunday 28 July with the preliminary phase and will end Sunday 11 August with the match that will crown the new Olympic champions.
To establish the ranking of individual groups, five criteria will be taken into consideration in the following order of priority:
- Games won
- Points made
- Ratio set won/lost
- Points scored/conceded ratio
- Results of direct clashes
The format provides for the two best-placed teams in each group to qualify for the quarter-finals, to which the two best third-placed teams will be added.
