Modena women’s volleyball is preparing for another year without a team from our province in Serie A: the news in itself would be negative, and in fact it is, if it weren’t for the fact that from B1 down something seems to be moving, and sooner or later a team from our province should return to the important parquets. It seemed that it could happen already this year with Mirco Muzzioli’s Volley Modena, but the fiery yellow-blue President managed to resist the sirens that tempted him from many sides, however putting together a team capable of improving on this year’s fourth place: at the court of the reconfirmed Di Toma on the bench, there are three “big guns” left for the cadet team, such as Lancellotti, Bozzoli and Gerosa, who were joined by Nonnati from Gossolengo, Alice Bellini from Volano, but previously from Anderlini and Villa d’Oro, Elena Fronza returning from Campagnola, Ester Paolini, and a small group of very young players from Anderlini, captained by the talented Pagot. The only club still very much at sea is the newly formed Bsc Volley Sassuolo with Francesca Ferretti as President, and Boris Kroumov on the bench, who after having purchased the title from Idea Volley, went around looking for players, but at the moment has only brought home Casotti from Imola, Giardino as director from Altino, and Zanin as libero. An entirely youthful project for Moma Anderlini, which debuts in B1 with Roberta Maioli at the helm, and a team all from 2007 and 2008, but also some from 2009, like Sofia Rinieri, granddaughter of the Italian Simona, arriving from Ravenna, or Agnese Cervi, children of art of Silvia Giovanardi. In B2, a good team for Hidroplants Soliera 150, entrusted once again to Filippo Rovatti, who, on the core of last year, has grafted Bedin and Natali from Mirandola, Neri as director from Alseno, Pecorari “oppostona” from S.Damaso, and Montorsi as libero from Modena. Regarding Zerosystem S.Damaso, the focus is mainly on confirmations, and on the arrival of the “American” Tamburini, and Bonora from Persiceto: the red and white managers are also trying to confirm the pair of central players Credi and Semprini, but if for the latter it is mainly a question of understanding if and where she will enter the Faculty of Medicine, the latter is held back by increasing work commitments.
