The Umbrian manager had started a project that still today gives Juve great advantages in terms of relations with some clubs in Europe and the United States: with Club 15, in fact, Juve triggered an exchange of good practices with other entities present in the championships minors, where he would have had easy access to finding any perspective talents. It was the appetizer of the other great project that Cherubini bequeathed to Juve, presented in the summer of 2018: the second team, first called Under 23 in the early years and subsequently expanded to the concept of Next Gen, including in the count the players who – once they completed their maturation process among the professionals – they found a place in the top flight, even away from Juventus.

Cherubini, with the exit of Marotta and the promotion of Paratici to head of the club’s Sports area, in October 2020 was promoted to the role of sporting director of the first team, subsequently working on the front line (with the exit of Paratici, in summer 2021) next to the mole in Arrivabene. Due to the inhibition remedied following the investigation relating to the capital gains case, the Umbrian manager has only dealt with the club’s sporting projects in the last year, especially those that have been started in recent months in Saudi Arabia: an activity for which he had also been offered the renewal of his contract. But Cherubini, who has already served his suspension and whose contract was expiring, intends to return to a managerial role linked to the sporting side, away from Juve.
