Two beautiful victories and semi-finals achieved. The Italian pairs formed by Claudia Scampoli-Margherita Bianchin and Reka Orsi Toth and Giada Bianchi have gained well-deserved access to the semi-finals of the CEV Nations Cup, a tournament that offers the last European pass for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. In Jurmala ( Latvia) in the first match of the day the Italian duo formed by Orsi Toth and Bianchi beat the Lithuanians Grudzinskaite G.-Grudzinskaite R 2-0 (21-15, 21-13). The first set was characterized by a good start from the Lithuanian.

After a phase of balance the Italians changed gear and closed the partial 21-15. Even in the second set the script did not change and Bianchi-Orsi Toth dictated the pace of the match until the final 21-13. Italy then confirmed the success also in the second match played by Scampoli and Bianchin against the duo formed by Dumbauskaite-Vasiliauskaite, overcome with a score of 2-0 (27-25, 21-16). The first set was beautiful and exciting with the two couples who did not hold back. In the decisive moment, however, Claudia and Margherita, after canceling two set points from their opponents, took the lead 27-25.

The Italians, fired up after winning the set, immediately imposed their game upon returning to the court, trailing their opponents until the final score was 21-16. The Italian pairs then achieved an important 2-0 overall which opened the doors to the semi-finals for Italy, where they will meet the Czech Republic formed by the pairs Neuschaeferova/Svozilova and Hermannova/Stochlova. The races are scheduled today at 4pm and 4.50pm (Italian time).
