Juventus, Douglas Luiz ever closer. Trust in Greenwood

Juventus sees the finish line in the race for Douglas Luiz. The maxi operation with Aston Villa has been defined which should bring Weston McKennie and Samuel Iling Junior to Birmingham in exchange for the Brazilian midfielder. The English also received an adjustment of close to 20 million euros. What is still missing? Douglas Luiz’s salary agreement. The 26-year-old at Aston Villa earns approximately 3.5 million euros a year and, obviously, an upward proposal is needed for the transfer to Turin. Juve seems oriented towards going beyond 5 million per season. The deal is with the agent Kia Joorabchian (the same as Joshua Zirkzee), but the trust remains very high, because the player has clearly expressed his desire to soon wear the black and white. These days, then, in Brazil’s retreat in preparation for the America’s Cup, Bremer and Danilo are explaining the world of Juve to Douglas Luiz, which the midfielder is already fascinated by.

koop and rabiot

The purchase of Douglas Luiz does not exclude the arrival of Teun Koopmeiners. The Brazilian, in fact, is a midfielder, while Atalanta’s RoboKoop can also and above all act as a raiding attacking midfielder. To date, however, Cristiano Giuntoli has not yet presented an official offer to the Goddess. The intention was to wait for the European Championship or in any case to cash in first with some important transfers (Soulé or Huijsen) and Koopmeiners’ injury (he will miss the event) will not speed things up, on the contrary. Rather, the signing of Douglas Luiz would put some pressure on Adrien Rabiot. The Frenchman announced a few months ago that he wanted to outline his future before the start of Euro 2024. One day before the start of the tournament in Germany, however, it is still not known with certainty where Rabiot will play from July onwards. Juve has made its offer (two years plus the option for a third) to mother Veronique, who is evidently taking longer than expected to respond.

The black-and-white market calendar, however, foresees other future fundamental incoming turning points. For example, for Mason Greenwood, an English winger born in 2001, owned by Manchester United but on loan to Getafe in the season just ended. He will return to England, but not to stay there, after the well-known personal events that have also affected his career in the last two and a half years. Juve has already moved with Greenwood’s entourage, finding a general agreement for his landing in Italy. Before negotiating with United, who start from a decidedly high request (between 40 and 50 million), in this case too Juve will have to wait to sell.

the transfers

And speaking of outgoing players, Leicester and West Ham have entered the race for Matias Soulé, so contact with agent Martin Guastadisegno is expected in the next few days. The renewed interest of English clubs adds to that of Roma, who intend to get serious about the Argentine. The sale of Soulé would be convenient for the budget (it would almost be a pure capital gain) and would help finance the purchases. A bit like that of Dean Huijsen, who Borussia Dortmund and Atalanta like. The news of the day, however, is that of the abrupt stop in the negotiations with Al Nassr for Wojciech Szczesny: the Saudi team has asked both Juve and the Polish goalkeeper for time and the deal is currently blocked. Szczesny, however, was intent on giving a definitive answer only at the end of the European Championship.
