In eleven days England will make their debut in the 2024 Summer Series. The first match featuring the British national team will be against Japan, in Tokyo, of the former Eddie Jones.

In preparation for the summer matches, Steven Borthwick’s staff decided to bring together a legend of English and international rugby, one of the players most loved by fans of the oval ball.

Twelve seasons in the Premiership with the Newcastle Falcons shirt with which he won a championship in the 1997/1998 season. Five seasons in France at Toulon, from 2009 to 2014, with which he won a TOP14 in the 2013/2014 season and two Champions Cups (formerly Heineken Cup) in 2012/2013 and 2013/2014.

His rich palmares is enriched by the victory in the 2003 World Cup, a goal achieved thanks to his 100th minute drop which gave the trophy to a nation not belonging to the Southern Hemisphere for the first time in history.

45-year-old Jonny Wilkinson has joined the England staff as a mentor to Marcus Smith and Fin Smith, fly-halfs in Steven Borthwick’s team. His proverbial search for perfection and dedication to work can only be good for two talented and very strong number 10s.

After the first match in Japan, England will fly to New Zealand where they will face the All Blacks. July 6 at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin and July 13 at Eden Park in Auckland.
