The fourth and final confirmation in view of the 24/25 season has snappy and unpredictable features: the play spot will still be occupied by Gina Conti. The class of ’99, acquired by the Italian team during the last year with the call-up to the national team, surprised all the experts with an unexpected and high-quality rookie year. Gina immediately ingratiated herself with the Rossoneri public, who appreciated her genuineness and the big heart that she always poured onto the PalaNat parquet.
Now comes the hard part: sophomore year. Which Gina, however, will face with an enormously increased wealth of experience and confidence compared to last September. Always with a smile on her lips, as we have learned to know her since her arrival.

Born in ’99, raised in the USA but of clear Italian origins (precisely from Carovilli, Isernia: we appreciated the many supporters in the numerous trips to Campobasso last season). Gina first attended college at Wake Forest and then the prestigious university of UCLA, where she competed in the NCAA championship with the Bruins, also arriving among the Top16.
Eager to take on an experience different from the American one, she arrived in Sesto in the summer of 2023, immediately making herself loved for her great accuracy with her bow. Highlights of the season are certainly the 24 points in the first match against Campobasso, with 6 triples, and the 22 in Faenza. You ended your first championship with the Rossoneri with 8 points on average and an excellent 39% from beyond the arc.
A championship that also satisfied coach Zanotti, who as usual was able to gradually introduce her to the point of making her a staple in the rotations. This is how she expressed herself on the matter: “After a year of great experience, I think Gina will be able to give us something more, especially in terms of continuity and knowledge of the game.”
Back in LA for the off-season, Gina greets her fans like this: “I am looking forward to playing my second season at GEAS! My teammates and the fans have been so special in my experience here! I’m excited to keep growing as a team and to continue to develop as a player.”
