Zaynab Dosso wins the bronze medal in the women’s 100 meters final with a time of 11”03. The great feat of the 24-year-old Italian athlete – who reached the final by hitting the new Italian record with 11″01 – drove the Olimpico crazy with joy. The English Asher-Smith won the gold, silver for the Polish Swoboda (same time as Dosso but later in the photo finish).I am very happy for this bronze. I take it as a good sign that rewards the work done in recent months and especially in view of the Paris Olympics“, said Dosso at the end of the final at the European Championships in Rome.
Bronze for Tecuceanu in the 800 meters
Catalin Tecuceanu also won the bronze medal, finishing third in the 800 meters final (gold for the French Tual and silver for the Spanish Attaoui): “The first goal was to get an international medal. Okay so we are on the right path, I believe it. I tried to run with my head, maybe if I hadn’t been shut down I would have done a little better. It’s a great achievement. I hope there are more to come. Now we have our finger on the Games. I’m sure the Italian record will come. Let’s try this year. I dedicate the medal to my little brother“, said Tecuceanu after winning the bronze in Rome.
