A double victory on the French and German fronts. Alexander Zverev has finally dispelled the semi-final taboo at Roland Garros by pushing himself to the final stage of the tournament in this edition, after three failed attempts.

On Sunday starting at 3pm Sascha will go all out in the final against Carlos Alcaraz, in which he starts as a slight underdog especially due to the several hours more spent on the pitch compared to his opponent.

In the meantime, a sort of statement soon came from the Tiergarten district court. The Hamburg player’s lawyers reached an out-of-court settlement with ex-girlfriend Brenda Patea, who accused the athlete of being pushed against a wall and suffocated with both hands in May 2020 after a heated argument.

The pact, at the request of the public prosecutor, will allow Zverev to dismiss the entire trial with the payment of a fine of 200 thousand euros (in October 2023 it was 450 thousand euros).

The question at the press conference

With the trial practically over, a journalist tried to get the German tennis player to talk about the topic with a question which however was not appreciated at all.

This was Zverev’s piquant reaction: “It’s closed and I’m moving on. I’m innocent, otherwise it wouldn’t have been closed. I don’t want anyone to ask me about it again. Four years have passed. I firmly believe in German justice.

The press is more interested in clicks than in the truth” he vented to the media.
