Marcell Jacobs will try to defend his continental title conquered two years ago in Monaco and this evening (9.26 pm) he will take to the track at the Olympic Stadium in Rome to start their adventure at the 2024 European Athletics Championships. The Lombard sprinter will be involved in the third semi-final, with the clear intention of accessing the final scheduled for 10.53pm. The Messiah of the tricolor movement will present himself at the meeting with great ambitions after having expressed himself at 10.03 in Oslo.
Marcell Jacobs will race in lane 5 and will be the favorite in his semifinal, the first two classified in each series and the two best repechage times will go through. The blue, who holds the European record (9.80 on the day of the apotheosis in Tokyo), does not seem to have great rivals: the most fearsome are the British Chijindu Ujah (lane 4, 10.07 seasonal and 9.96 personal) and the German Yannick Wolf (10.08 a few weeks ago, lane 7), but watch out for the emerging Frenchman Pablo Mateo (10.17 this year and a record 10.15, lane 3).
The Slovenian Anej Curin Prapotnik (lane 2), the Finnish Samuli Samuelsson (lane 6), the Danish Simon Hansen (lane 8) and the Spanish Guillem Crespi (lane 9) do not cause particular concerns. Taking a look at the final act, the other most fearsome rivals should be the Como Chituru Ali (10.06), the Dutch Taymir Burnet (10.09), the British Romell Glave (10.05) and the Swede Henrik Larsson (10.08).
