Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas has simultaneously undertaken a career as a professional cyclist and in the last race held in the United States he even managed to get on the podium, finishing 2nd in his category.
Motoring enthusiasts are used to seeing Valtteri Bottas speeding at over 300 km/h in a Formula 1 single-seater during race weekends, but, for some time now, to his career as an F1 driverthe Finnish Sauber vi alongside that of a professional cyclist which, even, Lately it has been giving him more satisfaction.
To find in fact the last time he stood on the podium in a Formula 1 race we need to go back to December 5, 2021, that is when, in his penultimate race with Mercedes, on the Jeddah circuit he took third place in the Saudi Arabian GP. Since then, thanks to the move to the less competitive Alfa Romeo/Sauber, the satisfactions for him in the Circus have been very few and have been limited at most to entering the points zone (this season he is still stuck at zero after eight GPs).
However, the result obtained in the cycling race Unbound Gravel 100 on stage in the United States which he took part in the weekend following the Monte Carlo GP and before Formula 1 moved to Montreal for the subsequent Canadian GP. At the end of the long run Valtteri Bottas was in fact ranked second in the men’s category between 30 and 39 years old.

A silver medal that made the Finnish driver himself enthusiastic who celebrated the podium obtained with a post published on their social profiles: “Finally I was able to take part in this great event. I had fun racing my bike for 174 km on dirt roads and came second in the men’s 30-39 category” we read in the message written accompanying some photos that portray him immediately after the race.
A result, the one centered on the roads of Kansas, which highlights the considerable progress made in what appears to be his new sporting career (whom he got closer to thanks to his girlfriend Tiffany Cromwell, an Australian professional cyclist): alone in fact, a few weeks earlier Valtteri Bottas had finished 11th in the Grasshopper Adventure Series scene in Northern California and now, at his second event of pro-cyclinghe even managed to get on the podium.
