Sinner at Roland Garros: debut on Monday at 11am

Monday 27 May, 11am: Jannik Sinner returns to the field. And he will do it on the Suzanne Lenglen, the second most important facility at Roland Garros: the world number 2 will open the second day of the Paris Slam by challenging the American Christopher Eubanks, 46th player in the rankings. The South Tyrolean hasn’t played since April 30, in the round of 16 of the Masters-1000 in Madrid against Karen Khachanov: almost a month later, Sinner starts again with the concrete possibility of becoming the new world number 1.

sinner and nadal

Jannik will open a day that will be characterized by the return of Rafael Nadal to Roland Garros: the match between the 14-time champion and Sascha Zverev is inevitably the main match of the day and, as expected, it will be the third match against Philippe Chatrier, therefore in the afternoon. Opening Day 2 on the most important venue at Roland Garros – from 12pm – will be Jabeur-Vickery and Swiatek-Jeanjean, while in the evening session (after Nadal-Zverev) the match between Gael Monfils and Thiago Seyboth Wild is scheduled. On Suzanne Lenglen, after Sinner-Eubanks, Tsitsipas-Fucsovics, Gauff-Avdeeva and Svitolina-Pliskova will be on stage.

Italians

On the other fields, there will be many Italian protagonists: Matteo Arnaldi will challenge Arthur Fils in the second match on Simonne Mathieu (the program will be closed by Medvedev-Koepfer); Jasmine Paolini will open the day on court 7 against Daria Saville, on Court 6 there will be Bellucci-Tiafoe (third match) and Cocciaretto-Haddad Maia, Lorenzo Musetti will close the day on court 12 against Daniel Galan and Fabio Fognini will challenge Botic Van de Zandschulp in the third match on court 13. Very rich programme, on the day of Sinner and Zverev-Nadal: it will be a spectacular Monday. All matches will be broadcast on Discovery+ and Eurosport.
