Anne Buijs’ experience for an increasingly ambitious Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri ’76. The Turin club has announced the hiring of the 4th place spiker (born in 1991, 191cm), who is currently involved in the VNL with her national team (where she returned to play to achieve Olympic qualification).

Last year on the pitch in the ranks of nearby Novara, in Chieri Buijs will play together with Sarah Van Aelen, director of her national team: “We are playing the VNL at the moment, trying to qualify for the Olympics: it would be my dream to participate again, after 4th place in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. Sarah and I are playing together now for the first time, I’m having a lot of fun, she’s a very intelligent and hard-working player, I’m sure we will achieve great successes together, in the national team and in Chieri”.

Anne born in Geelen, in the south-east of the Netherlands, on 2 December 1991, 191 cm tall, daughter of former volleyball player and coach Teunis Buijs, trained as a volleyball player in the youth sector of Zaanstad. In 2007/2008 she made her debut in the Dutch top league with Martinus where in two years she won two league titles and two national cups. You won a third Dutch title in 2010 with TVC Amstelveen. Thirteen years around the world followed which took her to Belgium (Asteríx Kieldrecht), Germany (Schweriner), a first time in Italy with Busto Arsizio in 2013, Azerbaijan (Lokomotiv Baku), Turkey (Vakifbank), Brazil (Rio de Janeiro ), Turkey (Nilüfer), Italy again in 2018 with Monza, Turkey (Türk Hava Yolları), Brazil (Praia Clube) and in the last season a third time in Italy with Novara, winning a total of six other championships, four national cups, several super cups, two South American Club Championships (2017 and 2021), two Challenge Cups (2019 and 2024) and various other trophies.
Since 2009, she has defended the colors of the Dutch national team, with which she won two silver medals at the European championships in 2015 and 2017 and a bronze medal at the 2016 World Grand Prix. She is currently engaged with the Dutch team VNL in search of qualification for the final of the event and above all a place at the Paris Olympic Games.
