Caja – We expected a difficult match against a team third in the other group and coming off a 3-0 lead in the quarterfinals. Rieti created difficulties for us, in the end perhaps it paid for short rotations and the absence of an important player: an opponent to be respected, and we knew it. We weren’t at our defensive level in the first half, we allowed too much ball movement, but in the second half we saw the difference: 16 points scored, and it’s also thanks to those who gave us a great hand from the bench. During recovery time Sergio and Morgillo were on the pitch, at other times Panni and Conti, in the playoffs everyone’s contribution is needed and they have shown that they are now ready. But it’s the first act of the series, they never disunite, another battle awaits us on Tuesday and we know it. We have to be better at cleaning the game, too many turnovers, this is the data more than our three-point percentages, I can’t change the hand of those who miss penalties. In the second half we were good at keeping Johnson from the first dribble, something he hadn’t managed before, allowing him to turn the ball around a lot for his teammates.
