Homage and controversy
On Thursday, the splendid images of the commemoration organized at the Tamburello curve by Sebastian Vettel to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the death of Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger, both of whom died during the weekend of the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix, went around the world. , right on the Imola track.
However, the photos had immortalized the reigning world champion, Max Verstappen, without the yellow t-shirt – recalling the colors of the Brazilian ace’s helmet – made by Vettel for this commemorative occasion. Initially, on social networks, always ready to spit sentences against anyone, criticism began against Verstappen, accusing him of an alleged lack of sensitivity towards the memory of Senna.
‘Mistery solved
The truth instead emerged today, revealed by Vettel’s own entourage. A consultant of the former German driver has in fact revealed to a Brazilian television station that unfortunately several t-shirts reserved for drivers have been stolen, including those of Verstappen and also of Valtteri Bottas.
In fact, the Finn was also wearing a k-way and classic bike shorts, given that he was riding a bicycle. The three-time world champion – who was wearing a tribute cuff dedicated to Ratzenberger – therefore had no way of wearing the t-shirt dedicated to the Paulista legend.
