the point on the market, between externals and renewals

Although the Legabasket Playoffs have just begun, we have already entered the heart of the transfer market that will accompany us throughout this summer. The most talked about team of all is, without a doubt, theOlimpia Milan. The red and whites are preparing to revolutionize their roster, trying to improve their performance in Europe to return to the Playoffs. There are many question marks to resolve for Messina and Stavropoulos, who will have to juggle Armani’s finances between renewals and new purchases, especially in the external department.

In our premium chat, the market expert Orazio Cauchi tried to take stock of the current situation in the Lombardy capital. Obviously we start from external, a department in which Milan will have to work hard to find a solution that fits better with the rest of the roster. Much of the red and white work will be concentrated on the playmaker position, a role that has seen the Messina team remain undiscovered for too long in the last two years. Here is what our insider reported.

For the external department we are trying to tighten up for the arrival of Dimitrijevic and we are following profiles such as that of Williams-Goss and Bolmaro.

The Serbian player, in particular, seems to be the closest to wearing the red and white shirt and we have analyzed his profile here. Williams-Goss and Bolmaro are names that have been circulating for some time, and on which theOlimpia’s interest is undoubted. Only the next few weeks will tell us whether Armani will actually decide to attack one of the two, or whether he will turn to other profiles.

From the point of view of departures, however, there are certain names whose farewell seems to be only a matter of a few weeks. Few doubts, in fact, about the departures of Voigtmann, Poythress, Hines (who will retire) and Baron.

Renewals, however, are currently a minefield that Olimpia is trying to navigate. It is not certain, however, that the red and whites will be able to get out of it without losing some important members of their roster. The primary objective is theextension by Nicolò Melliabout which there is not much certainty at the moment.

For Melli, negotiations are continuing on the renewal but at the moment there is no agreement. In general, relations with the agency that represents him are not exactly idyllic at the moment.

The player’s financial demands are very high, and Olimpia is therefore faced with a choice. Satisfy his requests, or look for alternative solutions to your captain? A separation which, if necessary, would certainly be painful but attributable to a Melli’s discontent regarding some locker room dynamics. The arrival of Mirotic, from a financial point of view, has in fact called into question the leadership of Melli himself and Shields, who found themselves with salaries decidedly lower than that of the Montenegrin. As such, both are looking to up the ante, with the Dane may even have already started looking around for alternatives. Will Milan thus lose two of its most important leaders of recent seasons?
