Recco: rugby, exchange of land to build new changing rooms

From the staff of Carlo Gandolfo, mayor of Recco

The Recco City Council has approved a draft agreement for the “exchange between a newly built property and private areas in exchange for municipal areas located near the intersection between Via Fieschi and Via Doria”. Sogegross SpA will transfer an area of approximately 87 m2 to the Municipality and will build, or have built at its own expense, a building with a gross surface area of 285 m2 intended for rugby services. In exchange, the company will receive municipal areas measuring approximately 1,265 m2.

The technical evaluation, carried out by the municipal technical services conference, determined the value of the private areas given in exchange at 532,946 euros, while the public areas were estimated at 279,125 euros. This exchange entails an economic advantage for the Municipality of 253,821 euros. In addition to the building, again by Sogegross, a road will be built to allow the use of the sports facility by sports clubs, athletes and spectators for all the activities planned on the pitch.

“The Recco rugby field is an important facility in the sporting panorama, not only in the municipality – comments the mayor Carlo Gandolfo – and, after the recent renovations and redevelopments, it is essential to make it more suitable for the important function it performs. This exchange of land and the construction of the services building by Sogegross represents an undoubted advantage for the municipal coffers, entering the path of improvement and valorisation of the sports facilities in our area. A path that we have undertaken to allow the practice of sport in more functional, equipped and safe places.”
