Fabio Roselli, head coach of Zebre – ph. Zebras Parma

After the end of the 2023/2024 season Fabio Roselli will no longer be the head coach of Zebre.

With a press release the franchise made official the news that had already emerged over the past few weeks: the Roman coach will leave the management of the Parma team after two seasons of head coach and two as assistant.

“Two years ago we embarked on a path together with Fabio that brought great improvements at a sporting and organizational level, in particular in the technical, physiotherapy and physical-athletic preparation areas – declared the sports director of the franchise Franco Tonni – We defined and developed a team that currently has an average age of around 25 years and which has not yet reached the peak of its potential.”

“In agreement with the FIR, we agreed to make a different planning choice. Our paths diverge and we salute a coach of considerable human and technical qualities, grateful and appreciative of the contribution he was able to offer to the entire club and to the movement.”

In his two seasons as head coach Roselli has achieved just three wins and one draw, all in the current sporting year. Despite the deficient results, however, the coach’s work was evident: he assembled a team with notable deficiencies and imposed important progress which bore fruit in terms of an increase in the competitiveness and development of the players present in the franchise. .

A path that the coach describes like this: “When I was asked to lead the Zebre I knew that the challenge was complicated, but I embraced it with enthusiasm and the belief that I could contribute to improving the sporting area, the path of individual player development and to finally build a strong identity with a game model tailor-made for this roster.”

“I thank the club for believing in and supporting me in building a technical staff with different skills and cultures, capable of enriching and restoring value to a young squad, full of energy, which needed to increase knowledge and experience of rugby professional. I am happy to have made each member of the staff feel at ease to allow them to express themselves within the perimeter of the technical project to be developed; I am convinced that all areas of the sporting part have reached a high level suitable for the standards of the URC tournament in terms of organisation, methodology and skills.”

“I am equally proud of how the team improved its performance in every area of the game and how it reacted and is reacting to every difficult moment. Together with all the professionals who work at Zebre we have created an environment of growth and great enthusiasm which has given the team competitiveness and awareness of being able to achieve victory in every match. Now we work and remain focused to allow the players to express that exciting style of play shown in much of the championship to close the season in the best possible way.”
