Sinner debuts with a brand new coach at his side. The news took the fans by surprise and the assault began.
The carrot-colored curls that, rebellious and indomitable, sprout uncontrollably from here and there. And again, the cap pulled tightly onto the head, the colored t-shirt, the cuffs and the inevitable racket, held firmly in his right hand. There is no doubt: it’s him. It’s clearly him, Jannik Sinner.
Only it’s in a cartoon version this time. As, perhaps, we never expected to see it. And of Disney the idea of taking the champion of the moment and making him a comic book hero. Precisely for this reason, the latest issue of is dedicated to him baby mouse, the most loved weekly magazine of all time. And he is always the protagonist of the main story of issue 3572, on newsstands from Wednesday 8 May: it’s called Uncle Scrooge and the unusual coach and was designed by Alessandro Perina and written, instead, by Roberto Gagnor.
This is a fictional story, of course, but there really are plenty of elements directly attributable to tennis. Starting from the name of this new entry, which conceals a not at all veiled reference to the South Tyrolean champion: the character hired by the rich Duckburg tycoon is called Quacknik Spinnercomes from Calisota and looks incredibly like the number 2 in the world.
Sinner debuts on newsstands: Big Sbam goal
Spinner will have to compete in the first tournament of Big Bang (no, that’s not a typo, that’s exactly what it’s called), the Duckburg Open. But Rockerduck, as always, is there, ready to put a spoke in the tycoon’s wheels and to hinder the rise of the phenomenon who came from Calisota to win.
It is not the first time that Disney has proposed a story with sports characters as protagonists: in the past the pages of Mickey Mouse have already hosted footballers, basketball players, swimming champions and even tennis champions. This time, however, with Jannik at the pinnacle of his career, there is good reason to think this number will sell like hot cakes. Both on newsstands and comic shops and on Panini.it, as well as at Turin International Book Fairwhere the story in question will be observed specially at the meeting on Saturday 11 May at 12, since we will discuss specimens with beaks.
A tribute with all the trimmings, in short, which will certainly have made the talent of San Candido proud: “I love comics, I grew up with those published by Panini, and it’s always exciting for me to read them – said Sinner regarding the tribute paid to him by Walt Disney – I still try to find the time to do it, between trips and matches”. And something tells us that this time he will find it in FOUR and FOUR’eight.
