UEFA has announced the referee appointments for the first leg of the semi-final of Europa League. Roma-Bayer Leverkusenscheduled for Thursday at 9pm, will be directed by François Letexier, with Cyril Mugnier and Mehdi Rahmouni assistants. The fourth official will be Rade Obrenović, Jérôme Brisard will be the VAR while Willy Delajod will be the AVAR.

PRECEDENTS WITH ROME – The French referee has already managed Roma on two occasions, in the victory against Brighton in the round of 16 4-0 at the Olimpico and when the Giallorossi lost 2-0 away against Slavia Prague in the group stage of the Europa League in this season. In these two matches 3 yellow cards for the Giallorossi, no expulsion and no penalties.

PRECEDENTS WITH LEVERKUSEN – A victory and a defeat also for Bayer Leverkusen with Letexier as referee. The first match is dated 13 December 2018, group stage of the Europa League, with the Teutonic team victorious 5-1 at home toAEK Larnaka. The other match, however, is the second leg of the round of 16 of the Europa League againstAtalanta of 17 March 2022: 0-1 for the Orobic team and passage of the round for the Italian team, who also won 3-2 in the first leg. In these two matches 5 yellow cards for the Germans and no expulsion. Furthermore, a penalty was also awarded in the match against AEK Larnaka.
