The good news, highlighted by councilor Barbara Magi, is that the Tari increases in 2024, for shops, bars and restaurants, will only be 1% compared to a year ago. For houses there will even be a decrease of very few percentage points compared to 2023.

Data not to be taken for granted for the Municipality given that in the economic-financial plan prepared by Ato Toscana Sud, on the indications of the National Environmental Authority, the bill for the public building for the services of Sei Toscana was decidedly high, almost 5% more than to 2023.

But citizens will not feel the effects: tariffs remain at last year’s levels thanks to the resources recovered by Sigerico in the fight against tax evasion.

“We will work at every location to contain costs,” said Magi who then pointed the finger at Sei Toscana: “They are not carrying out their functions as best as possible. The increases in the economic plan do not correspond to an improvement in services”.

The councilor, this morning in the city council, directly brought up the president of the service manager Alessandro Fabbrini: “In the assembly of the territorial units he called me indifferent. He said that I don’t understand how the work done by Sei Toscana works.”

This morning the chamber gave the green light to both the waste service plan and the Tari tariffs. Opposition votes against. Among the most critical interventions was that of the PD group leader Giulia Mazzarelli.

“The service does not work as it should, but the administration must not criminalize the manager and avoid distinctions between good and bad. Magi should commit to negotiating the best management of the service. We are not in favor of an increase in fare but for an improvement in service. And if this entails additional costs, then we must explain it to the citizens with great tranquility and intelligence”, his words

The first Tari installment must be paid by July 1st, the second will expire on September 30th, the third on December 2nd. For those who live in a situation of economic hardship – families with ISEE up to 6500 euros – tax exemption is established. Even those over seventy who live alone and have an ISEE income of less than 7,500 euros will not pay.
