Olbia, the Deffenu high school at the international mathematical games championships

The Attilio Deffenu Higher Technical Institute of Olbia flies to Milan for the national finals of the International Mathematical Games Championshipsorganized by Bocconi University, and at the Devilla technical center in Sassari where he will compete the regional finals of the Transalpine Mathematical Rally.

Having passed the semi-finals last March, taking first place, the student Antonello Mazzone, originally from Golfo Aranci, enrolled in the fifth class of the Computer Science course at the Olbia institute, will represent Sardinia in Milan on May 25th, challenging the podium for conquer the international finals which will take place in August.

Deffenu also triumphs as a team: after having brought home the first two races, competing for the tests with all the schools of the Armt of Cagliari and those of the Sassari section, the first class of the computer science course, twenty-four students, on May 22nd, aims to win the competition.

«The Mathematical Rally is a wonderful test and among the first aims of the competition is the objective of developing a positive attitude of young people towards mathematical language and thinking», said the teacher who followed the students, Sara Santandrea , who immediately believed in the potential of his boys, led by the head teacher, Stefano Stacca.
