Enrico Bonsembiante – organizer of the event together with Alessandro Ballan – talks about the beauty of this event: «For me it is an honor to be part of this organization, after the great success of Pieve di Soligo in 2023 in agreement with the administration we decided to repeat the experience, and I don’t deny that I would like it to become a fixed stop. We have been working for several months on this new edition of the criterium, an event that puts a lot of effort into it but also always gives us great satisfaction. The important thing for us is to give a dream to the fans, to the children, to the families, who can see the champions up close, something that is now impossible to do in modern cycling. Seeing the emotion in their eyes that evening repays us for every effort.”
He echoes it Stefano Soldan, Mayor of Pieve di Soligo: «I thank the Cycling Stars Criterium for the emotions it made us experience last year on an extraordinary evening, in a very special year for us which also saw our town host the arrival of the Gravel World Championship. I really hope for our community that this event can always be in Pieve di Soligo, where we boast an ideal social and economic fabric for the organization of this type of event.”
Also present at Ca’ del Poggio Giuliano Vantaggi, Site manager Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadenewho underlined the centrality of this territory in the great cycling of 2024: “The Cycling Stars Criterium will arrive this year at the end of a week full of events for our hills, with the start of the Giro E on 22 May from Valdobbiadene, in which will be followed by the passage of the Giro d’Italia from Valdobbiadene to Ponte della Priula on May 23rd and then the penultimate stage of the Giro, the decisive one, which will cross the territory from Vittorio Veneto to Vidor.
«Being able to then host the Giro champions at the Cycling Stars Criterium will be the icing on the cake for a truly exceptional week for the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene».
It couldn’t be missed Alberto Villanova, Lega Liga-Veneta Group Leader in the Region, alongside the Cycling Stars Criterium for three years: «The Region believes a lot in cycling as a fundamental tool for promoting the territory, as seen in the last edition of the Criterium in which we brought over 15,000 people to Pieve di Soligo, we saw it with the Gravel World Championship, because we know that professionals act as a driving force for the younger generations. The fundamental message we want to convey is the importance of combining the beauty of our territory with the beauty of sport. The success of these events demonstrates that when all the realities of a territory come together and work in synergy they manage to create something truly important.”
The Cycling Stars Criterium has grown in each edition, and next May 27th promises to be an unmissable event, a great celebration of sport and public that no cycling enthusiast will want to miss.
