Carlos Alcaraz was outclassed by an amazing Grigor Dimitrov in the quarter-finals of the Masters 1000 in Miami. The Spanish champion had to bow out in two sets to the possessed Bulgarian and thus ended his adventure on American hard courts early, after winning the Masters 1000 in Indian Wells a couple of weeks ago. Dimitrov will face the German Alexander Zverev in the semi-final, while on the other side of the scoreboard they will meet our Jannik Sinner and the Russian Daniil Medvedev.
The elimination of Carlos Alcaraz seems to have opened the way for the South Tyrolean champion, at least according to the bookmakers’ predictions. The bookies now see the winner of the latest Australian Open as the clear favourite: the success of the 22 year old Italian is in fact priced at 1.90, that is, by betting 10 euros you earn 19 if the blue were to lift the trophy to the sky in Florida. Jannik Sinner has a large margin over the other three semi-finalists.
Daniil Medvedev’s seal is in fact listed at 4.00 (putting 10 euros on the plate takes home 40). Following, a short distance away, Alexander Zverev at 4.50.
