There Women’s Basketball League has chosen the ideal quintet of Serie A2 (Group A and Group B) for the month of March.
MARIDA ORAZZO (SAN GIORGIO MANTOVAGRICOLTURE)
The month of March consolidated Mantova as one of the most fearsome teams in Group A of Serie A2. The Lombard team started with a prestigious victory, just before the Italian Cup, against Derthona, and then defeated fellow regional players Giussano and Carugate. In this sequence of matches Marida Orazzo was the usual pillar: not so much the 13.7 points on average, the winger played practically all over the pitch, showing a monstrous presence in rebounding, 8.7 per match, and in assists, 3.7 (compared of just 1.3 lost per game) for a total rating of 21.7. Leadership and technical value, as also demonstrated by the last outing with Carugate in a difficult match: 21 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists.
SARA GIANGRASSO (TORINO TEEN BASKETBALL)
Good month for Turin, net of the bad defeat against Broni after the break: two important victories arrived for the Piedmontese team, against Selargius and Empoli, with high-level performances. Victories that project the Turin team towards what will likely be an important field factor in the Playouts. Returning to the month of March, Sara Giangrasso was among the most brilliant from a scoring point of view: above all she continues, with three games in double figures for 15 points on average. For Giangrasso she also had 3.3 rebounds and an excellent figure of 2.3 steals, while her overall rating is 16.3. The 43% from three points is also flattering, in addition to the data on free throws which says 11/12 in the month.
VITTORIA ALLIEVI (CLV-LIMONTA COSTA MASNAGA)
Another month, another undefeated round for Costa Masnaga: within a very varied roster, in terms of responsibilities and spaces granted, the all-around available to coach Andreoli stands out as usual. Despite fairly poor shooting percentages (33% two-pointers), Allievi remains among the top of the category in terms of rating, also collecting an average of 15.7 this month: thanks not only to the points, 11 on average, but above all to the rebounding effectiveness, 9 on average, and completeness in essential items such as assists, 3.3 per game, or recoveries, 3 net per game. Plus, in her month, there were also two blocked shots. His performance coincides with Costa’s heavy victories over San Giovanni Valdarno and another Playoff team like Giussano, while the affirmation over Carugate is clear: the “Panthers” are back, they are second and now for the Playoffs they are the most accredited rival for the battleship Derthona.
VAT BELOSEVIC (VELCOFIN INTERLOCKS VICENZA)
Very good month for Vicenza, which is now fighting for its place in the sun in ninth place in the standings with Umbertide. The red and whites started the month with a clear victory over Ancona, and then scored an encore with Abano Terme and Bolzano, in two difficult matches but with a pink score as the outcome. For Belosevic this month he averaged a double double: 12.3 points and 10.3 rebounds on average, with 3.3 assists for an overall rating of 18. Good precision in attack with 50% from two, to lead a Vicenza attack that twice finished above 70 points.
BEATRICE BALDI (PF UMBERTIDE)
If Vicenza advances, the same can be said of Umbertide which places fifth with three victories in the month: it is difficult to reach the Playoffs, but for ninth place the Umbrians have a very important advantage of two points. In the month a great Beatrice Baldi: for the pivot two double doubles, always in double figures and among the protagonists. The opponents Ponzano, Bolzano and Abano Terme were certainly not armored (despite Ponzano and Bolzano being low-grid Playoff teams), but Umbertide always won well, with personality and suffering little. Thanks also to his pivot: 15.3 points, 11 rebounds on average, and a very solid 54% from two which results in a rather high evaluation value, 23.3.
