The great heat has finally arrived. The phase of strong instability is over and the sun is getting the better of the weather forecasts. But how long will it last? This is the common question that Italians ask themselves, especially considering that a good part of them is ready to go on vacation. Colonel Mario Giuliacci has shed some light on the situation. “High pressure is forcefully returning to our Peninsula and in the coming days it will strengthen its position over the Central Mediterranean. We therefore expect some days with lots of sun and lots of heat,” he said.

However, we must not create false hopes. This new heat wave, in fact, “could be short-lived, because the fresh and unstable Atlantic currents are still lurking and could soon flow over our country again”, we read on meteogiuliacci.it. Considering the latest projections of the forecast models, “the arrival of yet another disturbance” is already expected over the weekend. Thunderstorms could affect the North. Next week, the instability could also reach the Center and the South. Between Monday 1 July and Tuesday 2 July the umbrella could come in handy.
