Teima Sohaib

The procedure has begun which could lead to the extradition of Teima Sohaib from France. The 21-year-old from Fermo is seriously suspected, according to the Aosta prosecutor’s office, of the murder of 22-year-old Auriane Nathalie Laisne, found dead on 5 April in a small abandoned church above La Salle, in Valle d’Aosta. The girl’s identity had been investigated for days because when her body was found, the young woman did not have her cell phone or identification documents with her. According to what emerged from the investigations, Sohaib was seen while walking with the victim near La Salle a few days before the crime. The two were on foot and according to initial information, they crossed the border from France on foot to get to Italy. There would therefore be no burgundy van, as instead reconstructed shortly after the discovery of the body.

Teima Sohaib is due to appear before the judges of the chambre de l’instruction of the Grenoble Court of Appeal on April 18. The magistrates will have to express their opinion on the delivery of the young man to Italy. The 21-year-old is currently in custody pending extradition proceedings.

Sohaib was arrested on the evening of Wednesday 10 April in Lyon for violating the judicial control to which he had been subjected by the French authorities on 13 January. The young man had already been reported for domestic violence and threats against Auriane herself and according to initial information, he also tried to force her to retract her complaint. For these charges, the hearing before the criminal court of Grenoble was set for May 3rd.

The girl killed in the church in Valle d’Aosta has been identified: her name was Auriane Nathalie Laisne

Sohaib had also been stopped at the Mont Blanc tunnel for a routine check a few days before the crime. The young man was with the victim and it did not emerge from the databases that the judge had imposed a ban on him from approaching the 22-year-old despite the complaint of mistreatment. Sohaib continued the journey together with the young woman who was found dead in the abandoned church a few days later.
