It was first produced in 1974 and it was marketed as a four-door sedan. When Elvis purchased it, he immediately had it modified by a carriage builder, the American Sunroof Company, and the result was astonishing. The singer particularly loved it and drove it over and over again more than half a century ago.
For the new owner, therefore, it is a pleasure to climb inside and enjoy the view enjoyed by the king of rock. Sitting on a seat that he has sat in can only provoke strong emotions. The change did not occur only for an aesthetic reason, but for a very specific purpose, suited to the needs of the unforgettable singer.
Elvis, his modified sedan shines again
Fans and collectors have been searching for one for years Cadillac driven by Elvis Presley, the DeVille, and now she’s back on the street more beautiful than ever. This model is equipped with a pink vinyl roof and a rather unusual trunk. In fact, Elvis had it modified so that the musical instruments he played could fit inside.
In fact, it comes with a particular hump and luggage rack, but very efficient for the singer’s purpose. More precisely, the bodybuilder welded an extra roof onto it, which makes it look a bit like a Chevrolet Caprice, from which he borrowed the station wagon part to transform the DeVille. Furthermore, the pillars between the windows are missing, as well as the fact that the rear window slides down, but after pressing a button.
Finally, this car is equipped with a 472 cubic inch V8 engine and is capable of delivering up to 205 HP, bringing the car to a maximum speed of 180 km/h. It has currently been purchased by collector Brian Grams, who found it for sale on Craigslist. He had to pay around 184 thousand euros to get it and it is now part of his collection that can be found in the Vintage Car Flight Museum.
