SASSARI, 03 JUN – Fabri Fibra is preparing legal action against the electoral advert of the centre-right mayoral candidate for the Sassari municipal elections, Gavino Mariotti, rector of the University of Sassari. In the commercial published in recent days on Mariotti’s web channels, and removed after a few hours, the rector walks through the city center accompanied by a rap song with the voice of Fabri Fibra inviting people to vote, created with artificial intelligence. “Hey bro, the magnificent rector of the University, Gavino Mariotti, is running for mayor in the next elections in June”, says the voice of Fabri Fibra, rhythmic to the rhythm of a rap base. “Move your mind. Let’s have an ics on it, make this magnificent Sassari shine, what a blast”, urges the commercial while the images of the city shot from above with a drone scroll by. In just a few hours, the commercial went viral, also covered by numerous radio broadcasts on the national circuit and by specialized magazines on the music scene. But with a boomerang effect: an avalanche of negative comments that ridiculed the initiative and which unleashed a flood of ironic memes with the rector as a young rapper. So much so that the advert has been withdrawn from official channels, but continues to circulate on social media. The singer from the Marche region didn’t like rap, and he called his legal office into action, with the lawyer Antonella Rizzi. Through the About agency, which handles Fabri Fibra’s communications, the artist’s law firm declares to ANSA: “We are carrying out the appropriate checks to trace the author of the video, after which we will take the appropriate decisions”. The insistent rumor that has circulated in recent days that Fabri Fibra, in addition to asking for his voice to be removed from the election advert, had asked the mayoral candidate for six-figure compensation has not yet been confirmed.
