Piero Pelù on the cover of ‘Novichok’

«Novichok is the poison subtly used by Putin to kill his opponents and metaphorically it is the poison that is served to us citizens every day through contaminated environments and increasingly invasive and false propaganda». This is how Piero Pelù announced the release of Novichockthe first single from his new album Deserts which will be released on June 7th.

It is a surprise debut, after the announcement of the forced stop due to acoustic shock and a period of depression that the Tuscan rocker had told his fans through a long handwritten note.

«Hello everyone. Ten months ago I wrote to you that I had suffered a strong acoustic shock in the recording studio and that I was forced to postpone my tour altogether… During this period I fought depression and only thanks to the Goddess of music I got out of it, I pulled out my nails , my teeth, spit out my soul, wrote new and very urgent things and developed other ideas that had remained closed in my boundless archive”. And again: «While I am writing to you I have finished producing this new sound journey which will reach you very soon and in many forms, in fact in this long period away from you I have taken photos and videos which I will show you as soon as possible. I really want to be back among you with these new songs that I’m particularly attached to and with the tour which will be more engaging than ever. I missed you, see you soon Guys!”.
