Butcher & Blackbird, the viral romance on TikTok becomes a film

With a very recent debut dating back to last October at least in the States, Butcher & Blackbird is one of the most discussed volumes on BookTok. Presented as a dark romantic comedy, the film has not yet announced its cast so we don’t know who will play its protagonists, nor who will write the screenplay. The novel is based on the story of two rival assassins: Sloane e Rowan. Their goal is to hunt down other serial killers. Due to a chance meeting, their circumstances change and although there seems to be little tolerance between them, there is certainly no shortage of sparks. The official description, reported by Collidertells:

Butcher and Blackbird follows two competing killers who target other serial killers as they try to outdo each other. As their unlikely bond develops into something deeper, they begin to wonder if a future together could ever be possible.

As Collider reports, the trilogy has sold over a million copies in over 18 countries with a very strong fandom internationally. It’s not the first BookTok phenomenon novel to get the screen treatment. Just think of the success of Summer in your eyes, Heartstopper or again Red, white & blue blood and the most recent It Ends With Us. We are the ones who say enough is enough.
