Thus read the first lines of the official plot released by I Wonder Picturesthe film’s distribution company Linda and the chickenthe long-awaited animated feature film dedicated to the world of childhood, but not intended only for children.

The animated film “Linda and the Chicken”

Presented at the Turin Film Festival last year, and winner of numerous awards – above all the Caesar Award come Best animated film and the Silver crystal ad Annecy –, the film revolves around a seemingly simple episode, which is however exaggerated to the point of taking on grotesque and surreal traits.

The protagonists of the film are the little girl Linda and mum Pauletteengaged in a personal and daring odyssey when, after an argument, they decide to make peace by cooking the little girl’s favorite dish: chicken with peppers.

But where to get the ingredients, if all the shops are closed and the entire town is completely paralyzed by a general strike? Thus begins the bizarre adventure that will lead the two to hunt for the bird, plunging into extreme and funny situations, capable of making people smile and at the same time reflect on profound and delicate themes, such as that of the relationship between parents and children.

The theatrical release date

Directed by Clear Malta e Sébastien Laudenbach, Linda and the chicken will make its big screen debut on September 5thwhen it will arrive in Italian cinemas distributed by I Wonder Pictures in collaboration with Unipol Biografilm Collection.
