After debuting in 2021, the Eternals have remained in a sort of limbo in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but the latest rumors may finally provide clues as to when we’ll see the Eternals on the big screen again.
For how long, in fact, Marvel reassured fans that the Eternals sequel had turned into another project but was still on the studio’s list of projects. New updates, however, seem to suggest that very little has changed and that Eternals 2 does not yet have a concrete prospect in the MCU release calendar.
Insider Alex Perez of My Cosmic Circus, in fact, reports that the sequel to Eternals is still in the works, but for the moment it has been put aside, giving priority to other Marvel projects. In short, the times are still long and we probably won’t see the Eternals again anytime soon but the good news is that the project has not been abandoned and therefore there is still hope. However, the possibility of see Ikaris and Ajak again in an animated series for Marvel Zombies!
On his debut, Eternals was received lukewarmly by critics so much so that it risks being the Marvel film with the lowest score ever on Rotten Tomatoes. The public, however, has shown to appreciate the maturity of Eternals, not entirely regretting the legacy of the Avengers. However, Marvel Studios has not abandoned their heroes by deciding to give them a second chance. While waiting for further updates, don’t miss our review of Eternals.
