While Inside Out 2 breaks several records at home, here we have to wait a few more days to see it. This means that, this weekend, the total takings are only 2,462,955 euros, which means a small increase compared to last week (+8%), which had been a negative record for 2024. In short, another bad drop compared to 2023, when in the weekend of 15-18 June 3,790,372 euros were won (-35%), with first The Flash with 1,229,469 euros on its debut.
As regards the weekend 13-16 June 2019, there were no extraordinary data in that case either, with 3,123,520 euroswith only one title above 600,000 euros, that is Pets 2 – Life as animals, which grossed 659,027 euros. Similar data on the weekend 14-17 June 2018 thanks to 3,391,101 euroshowever with the second weekend of Jurassic World – Fallen Kingdom from 1,828,305 euros, but otherwise empty (second place for 211 – Robbery in progress with 195,820 euros).
The usual report must then be made on the total data for 2023 and 2024. On 16 June, last year we were at 210.745.967 euro, while now we are at 200.151.906 EUR.
As expected, it is the highest grossing film Bad Boys: Ride or Die, from which, however, a better result was expected, even if only for the global share that it will obtain from us. The film earned 838,911 euros and an average of 2,273 in 369 cinemas. If we consider that abroad it is already a 214M world championships, here there is an Italian figure that may not reach 2M, so the risk is that it remains decidedly below 1% of the world result. The third episode here opened with 885,228 euros in the first weekend, to end at 1,445,137 euros (obviously it would have made much more if it hadn’t been blocked by the pandemic), so this one should close better. The second chapter was the best however, with a first weekend of 1,125,154 euros and a final result of 2,930,049 euros.
In second position, we find very little Kinds of Kindness, which instead reached less than one million (902,675 euros), thanks to another 256,321 euros, with an average of 551 and a decrease of 34%. And at this point, even reaching one and a half million doesn’t seem very easy.
For less than a thousand euros, third Me against you the film – Operation spies. The YouTuber comedy couple obtained 255,716 euros over the weekend, with an average of 581 and a decrease of 51%, for a total of 2,275,903 euros. We should therefore remain on the total forecast of 2.5-2.7M made last week.
The Watchers it is instead fourth with 142,491 euros and an average of 461, down 40% and with a total of 532,656 euros. Overall, there are only six titles that exceed 100,000 euros in grosses over the weekend (not such a crazy situation in mid-June, as we saw above).
Among other debuts, The art of joy – part 2 it is sixth with 103,027 euros and an average of 384 in 268 cinemas. I remember that the first part opened with 136,482 euros and for now it has reached just over 300,000 euros (306,067 euros). The Animal Kingdom it is seventh with 98,772 euros and an average of 312 in 317 cinemas.
The eighth place of the other television series is interesting, very popular abroad, less so here The Chosen – Ep. 1-2, capable of earning 69,420 euros and an average of 1,780 (the second best of the top ten) in just 39 cinemas. Out of the top ten From the top of a cold tower with 23,807 euros and an average of 229 in 104 cinemas.
They close the top ten Furiosa – A Mad Max Saga with another 57,075 euros and an average of 420, down 59% (the worst of the top ten) and a total of 1,703,953 euros, which makes it clear that the total 2 million will not be reached. Tenth position for The exorcism – The last act, with 57,054 euros and an average of 426, down 53% and a total of 727,910 euros. Here we won’t reach one million, a threshold which for horror films this year has been exceeded – slightly – by only two titles, The prophecy of evil and Omen – The origin of sin.
We close with the totals of films outside the top ten. Garfield – A tasty mission reaches 2,096,656 euros; Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes 2,899,970 euros; The murder room 142,000 euros; The taste of things 627,985 euros; Hotspot – Love without a network 145,645 euros.
