According to Puck News journalist Matt Belloni, in fact, Mission: Impossible 8’s budget has soared well past the $300 million mark: an exact number was not revealed, but during Cannes a rumor began to circulate according to which the costs for the new film by Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie were approaching the monstrous figure of 400 million dollars, and now the two reports they actually seem to be meeting each other. In any case, after the many postponements, numerous filming sessions around the world, Hollywood strikes and technical setbacks, it seems inevitable that Mission: Impossible 8 will end up becoming one of the most expensive films of all time, a bellwether of alarm for the saga.
