The new film The Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim will not be the only big appointment with Warner Bros’ animation coming out in 2024, given that the remake of Watchmen will also be released in the coming months.

Already brought to the big screen in Zack Snyder’s live-action film and ‘continued’ on the small screen with Damon Lindelof’s TV series for HBO, the legendary comic created by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons for DC Comics in the ’80s will become for first time an animated film, or rather two animated films: during the Annecy Festival, in fact, it was confirmed that Warner Bros has divided the graphic novel into twelve chapters into two animated feature films, Watchmen: Part 1 and Watchmen: Part 2with the first part due out by the end of 2024 and the second part arriving during 2025.

Furthermore, during the film panel set up for the famous animation world festival, Watchmen is a film made in 3D and not 2D like most Warner Bros Animation films: the project was shown in a closed-door trailer whose animation style was described as “a mix between Batman Ninja and Super Sons“.

Release dates are currently unknown, but considering The Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim releases on December 13th Watchmen: Part 1 is likely to arrive before thenbetween the end of summer and November.
