Sophia Loren is one of the latest icons of world cinema and on September 20th she will cross the finishing line of ninety years. A few days ago the famous actress gave an interview to Vogue America together with her son Edoardo Ponti.

The Loren has in fact flown into the United States for a retrospective at the Lincoln Center in New York and celebrate the graduation of his granddaughter Lucia Sofia Ponti. However, she had been temporarily absent from the scene for some time due to a bad fall she suffered a year ago which caused her to break her femur and several other multiple fractures.

In recent months the Italian diva she was forced to undergo the treatment of a physiotherapist five times a week and is still forced to use a cane to walk. In the interview with the American magazine you stated: “Age is a state of mind. […] I wish my knees and back felt the same, because they’re the only ones that remind me that I’m my age.”

Sophia Loren then continues by saying “I still see a long road ahead of me with many things to do, places to see, people to meet” and also recalled the services for Vogue immortalized by great photographers such as Bert Stern And Richard Avedon.

His son also spoke during the interview Edward, who was keen to say that, despite her worldwide fame, her mother’s dream has always been to build a family. When asked about the actress’s future, the director assured that they are already working on a new project: “We have to make sure that the next step is even more satisfying for her from a creative point of view and also for the public.”
